About
I've spent three decades moving between activism, campaigning, and technology — from a Greenpeace ship in the Kara Sea to building the CRM that ran Switzerland's largest citizen movement. Campaign Pulse is where I write about what I actually see at that intersection, not what looks good in a slide deck.
Why this exists
Every week someone shows me a new AI tool that will supposedly fix campaigning. Some of it is real. Most of it is noise dressed up as innovation. I have no employer and no client to protect here, so I can say plainly what works, what doesn't, and where the actual risk sits.
What I write about
- AI tools campaigners and NGOs actually use — and where they fail
- Data, CRM and digital sovereignty for organisations that can't afford Silicon Valley's assumptions
- Campaign strategy: what separates an orchestrated campaign from a random shitstorm
- Stories from 30 years of this work — Greenpeace ships, election campaigns, refugee tech
Who's writing this
I'm Andi Freimüller. I started out on Greenpeace ships in the early 90s, spent years building Kampagnenforum into one of Switzerland's established campaigning agencies, founded Campax in 2017 out of frustration with progressive politics losing too often (today: over 740,000 people, Switzerland's largest citizen movement), and now run nowtec, building CRM and AI tools so NGOs don't have to depend on whichever US platform is fashionable this year.
